When you purchase an ‘Available Car’ you can rest assured you are purchasing a high-quality electric vehicle, prepared to an exceptionally high standard, by our team of professionals. However, as your vehicle gets older and the mileage grows, the likelihood of costly repairs also increases. Our RAC Extended EV Warranty is an option to cover you against unexpected mechanical or electrical failure, potentially saving you a hefty repair bill! Choose from 12, 24, 36 or 48 months cover. All Available with 0% interest.

  • Mechanical and electrical items (including parts, labour & VAT) that suffer mechanical or electrical failure.

  • In the event of a valid repair request, we will pay up to £90 (including VAT) per hour for labour.

  • Diagnostics for up to 1 hour or £90 per hour, including VAT (whichever is lower) paid per valid claim.

  • In car entertainment (factory fitted).

  • Key remote fobs and key cards.

  • Cover for the lithium-ion traction battery in the event ofcomplete failure to hold any voltage/charge, for vehicles less than 10 years old and with fewer than 100,000 miles.

  • Wear and Tear coverage up to 8 years/80,000 miles

What is excluded in the RAC Extended EV Warranty offered at Available Car?

  • Why do I need an Extended EV Warranty?

    Available Car takes pride in ensuring all vehicles are sold in the best condition. However as a vehicle gets older, the risk of part failure increases. An extended warranty gives you peace of mind and offers the guarantee that should something go wrong with your vehicle, you can receive hassle-free repairs at no additional cost.


    This warranty comes with the following additional benefits:

    • Free RAC Breakdown Cover for your chosen warranty period.

    • No excess to pay.

    • Aggregate claim limit up to the original purchase price of the vehicle.

    • Maintenance while the vehicle is being used in Europe for up to 60 days in any 12 month period.

  • Does RAC EV Warranty include RAC roadside cover?

    Yes. Free breakdown cover is included for the duration of your chosen warranty period.

  • Do I need to return my vehicle to Available Car to use my RAC EV Warranty?

    We recommend that you go to an RAC Approved Garage for your warranty claim. Find your local RAC Approved Garage at https://www.whocanfixmycar.com/networks/assurant.

    You     can opt to use a VAT registered garage which isn't RAC approved, however they may ask you to pay for the repair costs up front, which you will then need to claim back afterwards. It may also cost you more due to higher labour rates or use of original manufactured parts.

    Please refer to your plan Terms & Conditions for specific coverage details regarding parts and labour.

  • Will RAC provide a courtesy car while mine is being repaired?

    If you have a valid claim, you can claim at the RAC's discretion up to £50 a day, including VAT but not including Petrol and Insurance, towards the cost of a replacement vehicle whilst your vehicle is being repaired.


    The cost of the car hire must be within the overall claim limit and must be of a like kind and quality to the vehicle being repaired. The hire car must also be arranged through a bona fide rental operator or VAT registered business providing car hire.


    If the Autodata or equivalent recommend repair time exceeds 8 hours and we cannot resolve the matter in any other way, after this period, you can claim for a replacement vehicle for up to seven days.


    We will not be liable for any additional costs in respect of:

    • Any delay the repairer may have waiting for parts or commencing repairs;

    • Parts transportation

    • or vehicle hire costs incurred awaiting parts transportation.

  • How much is an RAC Extended EV Warranty at Available Car?

    An Available Car RAC Extended EV Warranty starts from £49.95 per month. Choose from 12, 24, 36 or 48 months cover.

  • Am I eligible for an RAC Extended EV Warranty at Available Car?

    • be purchased from Available Car;

    • at the start date of the Agreement, must be less than 7 years old (from the date of first registration with the DVLA) and have less than 100,000 miles on the odometer;

    • be built to and not be modified outside of UK manufacturer's specifications;

    • not be one of the following: Ascari KZ1, AC, Audi RS Models, Aston Martin, Bentley, BMW M Series, Bristol, Bugatti, Caterham, Daimler, De Tomaso, Dodge SRT10, Ford GT, Ferrari, Gumpert Apollo, Honda NSZ, Invicta, Jensen, Lamborghini, Lister, Lotus, Mazda RX7 & RX8, Marcos, Maserati, Maybach, McLaren, Mercedez Benz (S Class), Mitsubishi Evo Series, Morgan, Nissan Z & Skyline Models, Noble,Pagani Zonda, Porsche, Rolls Royce, Subaru Turbo Models, TVR, Toyota Supra, VW Phaeton, Volvo T and R Models, Westfield, all American, Australian and Canadian cars (unless built for the UK) a kit car.

    • not be used for hire or reward, commercial use, professional instruction, competition or off-road use, motor rally, motor racing, speed or duration tests, track days or any practice for these events whether they are timed or untimed;

    • Not be a vehicle used in public service capacity, for example within police force, military service or fire service; and

    • Not be a vehicle with gross weight of more than 3.5 tonnes.
