Why choose an Audi A1?

The Audi A1 was first launched in 2010, and since then has become a very popular small, premium car. A great choice for most drivers, the Audi A1 is super stylish, sophisticated and looks fantastic. It’s great fun to drive and if it’s a small car you’re looking for, with a premium feel, then you can’t beat a used Audi A1.

So, what do you actually get with a used Audi A1?

Used Audi A1s, as with all Audis, are built incredibly well, something German manufacturers are very well known for. With dynamic looks and state-of-the-art technology, you would struggle to find a similar car in the same category that can rival both the interior and exterior of a used Audi A1.

What can you expect in terms of performance?

Used Audi A1s drive brilliantly and much of the A1's driving prowess comes from Audi's incredible DSG system. They boast technical superiority and are by far the most technically gifted small car. The A1s clever flappy-paddle gearboxes make the car better and is definitely something to consider. The TDI engines in the Audi A1 are superb, but opting for a petrol model won't leave you disappointed!

And how about running costs?

The combination of the Audi A1's small size and efficient engine range makes it a good choice for buyers who value excellent fuel economy.

The most economical choice is the 1.6-litre diesel engine capable of 76.3mpg and CO2 emissions of 97g/km.

If you prefer a petrol engine then the 94bhp three-cylinder 1.0-litre petrol or the 1.4-litre with 123bhp are the best choices. The entry-level 94bhp 1.0-litre turbo engine can return 67.3mpg, with CO2 emissions of 97g/km, while the 1.4-litre petrol can return around 56mpg (the exact figure varies depending on the size of the wheels fitted) and will emit between 115 and 120g/km of CO2. Automatic models’ CO2 emissions are fractionally lower.

And because Audi is considered a premium manufacturer, its cars usually have strong resale values.
