AvailableCar Staff Charity Golf Day Raises over £2,500 for Mind
On Sunday 19th September, Michael Bell, CEO at AvailableCar, organised a Staff golf tournament at Trent Lock Golf and Country Club to raise money for the mental health charity, Mind.
This Ryder Cup style golf day raised an incredible £1260 for Mind, with Michael Bell matching every pound raised bringing the total to a very impressive £2520!
Red Team USA vs Blue Team Europe
The 22 players were divided into two groups, Red Group (USA) and Blue Group (Europe).
Both sets of players were then randomly drawn out of a hat to compete against each other in their golf teams of four players (2 Blue Teams vs 2 Red Teams).
All players then went head to head in competing to win each of the 18 course holes on the day.
And the winners were…
Blue Team (Europe)!
It was very close with Team EUROPE in blue taking the trophy beating Team USA in red by 3½ points to 2½ points.
Huge congratulations to Team Europe who became the first team to win the MIND Claret Jug and will have their team name and the winning year engraved on the trophy!
This will become the future tradition for the team who wins the trophy!
Everyone throughly enjoyed the event
The teams then returned to the club house for a well earned carvery!
Following this, the fundraising continued with all 22 players taking part in a raffle and prize giving, and there were also penalties collected for players who ended up in sand bunkers or water hazards, which all added to the fundraising pot!
A great day had by all, and we look forward to returning with a full team of 36 next year!
