Available Car Annual Charity Golf Day raises over £12,300!

Our annual charity golf days have always been blessed with glorious sunshine, however, this year the day started wonderfully with a lovely downpour of great British rain! This presented us all with a new challenge with very different conditions to what we have been used to, however, the bacon cobs, coffee and tea really helped perk everyone up before they all went out onto the driving range for a warm up.

This year our annual Charity Golf Day took place on Thursday 30th September with a total of 18 teams taking part. At the point of all the teams arriving, we had already raised £4,380, before a ball was even hit of a tee.

After a fantastic and very wet 4-hour round of golf, the teams started to return to the club house for a quick change out of their wet clothes, looking forward to a good old carvery dinner put on by the Golf Club which was delicious.

Scorecards were counted, and a new winner announced! A huge well done to PKF Smith Cooper, this year’s winners of the Available Car Charity Shield, who will have their name engraved on the shield!

After the meal, the golfing penalties were tallied up (which also included an individual fine of £20 to a certain cheeky member of one of the participating teams for having more than the 1 Yorkshire pudding allowance on his plate!)

Following the biggest raffle, we have ever had which included over 90 prizes and an auction with some cracking sport memorabilia up for grabs and our Available Car Snack Buggy drivers who also brought back some extra funding, we tallied it all up and the final amount raised was a whopping £12,328!

We would like to say a special thank you to the following teams and personnel for their attendance and contribution to this great event:

PKF Smith Cooper
Morelli Group
A Place Beyond
Wilsons Auctions
G3 Remarketing
Cox Automotive
Caunce O’Hara

We would also like to thank our Snack Buggy drivers Ian and Sarah, our photographer Ryan and Sam Smith for being our Beat the Pro and Trick Shot Challenge man on the day.

And a huge thank you to Edward and the team at the Trent Lock Golf and Country Club for letting us host the event there this year and for being so fantastic after we had to move the event a total of three times to finally be played in September.

We are all very much looking forward to next year! Will PKF Smith Cooper defend their title or will we have another new winner again?
