AvailableCar Car Supermarket raises funds for Rainbows Children's Hospice

Rainbows Childrens Hospice

AvailableCar Car Supermarket based in Sutton-In-Ashfield and Castle Donington have been delighted to announce plans this week, that they have adopted the Rainbows children's hospice in Loughborough as their adopted charity of choice.

Car Supermarket Helps the Community

Being the main hospice for the East Midlands area, AvailableCar hope customers and team members at both of their supermarket sites will help with their mission to raise thousands of pounds for the facility.

Although the hospice looks after children right across the East Midlands, AvailableCar really hope to raise the Rainbows profile in Derby where the hospital is not as widely known.

The Managers at the two supermarket sites hope by organising fundraising events and incorporating voluntary donations, AvailableCar will really make a difference for this much needed asset, which helps so many families in the region.

Some of the AvailableCar Team already have their first event planned, which will be a sponsored bike ride from Mansfield to Skegness on Sunday 31st May. Other activities will see the team take part in the Great North Run and taking a major role in Smooth FMs 'Bring a pound to work day' which last year raised more than £10,000.

Paul Arscott, AvailableCar Director said: "Rainbows formed the perfect charity for AvailableCar to get involved with as the hospital helps young people and their families, in the same areas as our two supermarket sites.

"In order to grow the hospice further Rainbows need help in raising £1 million, which will go towards a brand new wing. They also need help with the running costs for the hospital, which total £60,000 per week, which is a staggering £3 million per year! We hope that by getting the whole team involved and asking customers for voluntary donations, like rounding up their car sale from £3,999 to £4000 for example, we can soon make a serious donation."

Rainbows, is a purpose-built children's hospice, which opened its doors in 1994 to meet the needs of the children and young people from the East Midlands. All the patients who go to Rainbows are affected by life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.

Children and young people with these conditions go to the Rainbows Hospice for specialist respite stays, symptom management, palliative and end-of-life care.

Their families too, are fully supported and helped by the amazing Rainbows team on what can be a very difficult journey.
