AvailableCar's sponsored cycle raises over £1000 for Rainbows!

Just a few weeks ago a team of ten AvailableCar employees set off on an ambitious bike ride from Mansfield to Skegness in a bid to raise as much money as possible for their adopted charity Rainbows Children's Hospital.
On what was a very hot day, the team managed to tackle the journey through to the other end and even wore their bright Rainbows wigs all the way too!
After gathering sponsorship money for their hard efforts, the team were delighted to raise over £1000 for the Hospice. This was just the first of many planned activities due to take place over the next year. Rainbows have been adopted by AvailableCar as their charity of choice as it is a hospice which is used by so many people in the areas as their business, including Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Rutland, Leicestershire, Northhamptonshire and South Yorkshire.
Some of the AvailableCar Team have already raised £300 by taking part in the Derby 10k run only a few weeks ago.
Other activities will see the team take part in a sponsored sky dive, the Great North Run, plus help Smooth FMs 'Bring a pound to work day' which last year raised more than £10,000 and lastly to run as a group in the annual Mansfield Marathon.
Paul Arscott, AvailableCar Director said: "It was a fantastic result to raise over £1000 on what was one of the first events raising money for Rainbows Hospice. There's a great feeling of working together as a team at AvailableCar and the participation levels already shown by so many of our employees has been fantastic. I would like to thank each and every one of them for their hard work and support."
In order to grow the hospice further Rainbows need help in raising £1 million, which will go towards a brand new wing. They also need help with the running costs for the hospital, which total £60,000 per week, which is a staggering £3 million per year.
Rainbows, is a purpose-built children's hospice, which opened its doors in 1994 to meet the needs of the children and young people from the East Midlands. All the patients who go to Rainbows are affected by life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.
Children and young people with these conditions go to the Rainbows Hospice for specialist respite stays, symptom management, palliative and end-of-life care.
