As some of you may now, we opened our second car supermarket store in April this year, since then we have appointed a new Branch Manager for our 9.1 acre Sutton-In-Ashfield outlet.

Richard Whilding age 37 has been appointed after being promoted through various positions over the last four years. Working as Branch Manager, Richard will have full management control of the store and will be responsible for the development and motivation of almost 80 Team Members.

Richard joined us after working in a variety of jobs including textiles, fitting fireplaces and working for the Royal Mail, he said: “Living in the area, I heard about AvailableCar soon after it opened and I was keen to become part of the team. The fact that AvailableCar is all about customer service was something that really appealed to me.

“I started as a Showroom Customer Helper over four years ago now and by utilising the opportunities and training presented to me by Management, I have progressed to Branch Manager for Sutton In Ashfield, which I hope will become the first shopping destination shop for anyone in the region wanting a nearly new or used car”.

We like to think we are now well-known in the motor trade for our unusual way of recruiting new team members. We do not usually recruit anyone who has sold cars for another dealership during their career, with the mindset that they provide a friendly and hassle-free approach for our customers.

Employing over 230 people locally, AvailableCar plays an important role in the economic development of the region. Since January alone, we have appointed 56 new Team Members for our two supermarkets based at Junction 28 off the M1 at Sutton-In-Ashfield and off junction 24 of the M1 in Castle Donington.

Our Directors believe that due to the considerable expansion of employee numbers, having a Branch Manager is now a necessity in the Sutton site's operation.
