After five awards, the launch of a second supermarket and the recruitment of 230 employees you may think that we would like to sit back and enjoy our success?

Well the answer is no! Instead, we have decided to expand our Castle Donington supermarket site for the second time by purchasing 1.4 acres of neighbouring land, making our site the largest car supermarket in the Midlands at 12.9 acres.

Once development work starts in the New Year, the land will be used for outside car display. By creating space for an additional 300 cars, the total group number of nearly new and used vehicles will total over 2800 with little to no duplication, making it one of the biggest car selections in the UK.

Building work is expected to be complete by spring 2008 and will create further employment in addition to the already vast 150 strong team.

Since opening our doors six years ago, AvailableCar has witnessed on-going success and a long-standing commitment from our team of employees. Our annual turnover is expected to exceed over £120million and they have a loyal team with a 90% staff retention figure, which is one of the highest and most un-heard of figures in the industry.

By having a larger selection of cars, priced from £3,000 through to £23,000 with many cars being under one year old, we will continue appealing to all tastes and budgets.”

When we opened, AvailableCar set out with 7 acres and 40 employees back in 2002 with a clear vision that we were to ‘break the mould of traditional car retailing for the better’. A visit to our supermarket couldn’t be further away from the dreaded pushy car dealer and there’s no haggling on price. Instead Team Members are trained and rewarded on customer service, not sales and customers are asked to approach a member of our staff when they feel ready.

Every week since we opened, we have sold cars at record levels and over 50,000 cars have been purchased from the Castle Donington site alone.

As well as expanding the Donington site, we are also furthering expanding the second supermarket in Sutton-In-Ashfield by a further two acres.
